Hi...
Welcome to One Step at a Time—a blog about second acts, third chances, and discovering that life's most interesting chapters often start after fifty.
I’m a public servant, turned writer, coach, and professional questioner of everything. After two decades of climbing institutional ladders, leaning against the wrong walls to grow if you want to reinvent yourself.
These days, I wrestle words onto pages, coaching others to navigate their own transformations, and learning that perimenopause and ADHD make for interesting dance partners. I speak four languages fluently and emotional honesty as a fifth.
I wrote my first novel at fifty-two—because apparently, I like to do things on my own timeline. Now I write about the liberation of caring less about others' opinions, the adventure of starting over again and again, and the discovery that our supposed flaws might be our greatest strengths.
When I'm not writing or coaching, you'll find me attempting pottery, channeling Jackson Pollock in my garden, or having three-hour dinners with friends where we solve the world's problems over wine.
This blog is for anyone who believes growth has no expiration date, who's tired of conventional wisdom about "age-appropriate” dreams, and who suspects that the best stories begin with "I never thought I'd..."
Join me. One step at a time, we're rewriting the rules.
